Children from age one to 10 years old got to hunt Easter eggs on Saturday at the Easter Eggstravaganza in Branson West. The egg hunt began at 11 a.m. and ended at about noon. It took place at Arvest Bank on Highway 13 in Branson West and was hosted by Living Word Church of Branson West and LWC Bus Kids.
However, the event not only included egg hunting. Children also got to visit with local fire and police departments, received prize giveaways, took pictures with the Easter Bunny, enjoyed a free lunch, and participated in a Bus Kids service which featured music, drama, and more.
“We (Living Word Church-Branson West) are an outreach church. Our goal is to bless the community and show God’s love. The Easter Eggstravaganza was an avenue to do just that- provide families with a safe, free, and fun event to bring their kids to,” Bus Kids Director Melissa Wolf said. “It also introduces families to our Bus Kids Events. We host a VBS style event one Saturday each month where we provide a fun event with free lunch to kids K-5th Grade.”
Prior to Living Word hosting the egg hunt, the Branson West Business Association hosted the hunt for many years.
“We began hosting the hunt in 2021. This is the second year Living Word Church and Bus Kids has hosted the event. We plan to continue to host the event,” Wolf said.
Wolf said it was nice to be a part of an event where people from all throughout the area came together to enjoy a fun activity.
“Living Word Church has been a part of this community for 25 years and Bus Kids has been one of our outreaches for 23 years this September. We love this community enormously. It blessed us to see so many families come and just have fun! We wanted to create an event that gives back to a place we’ve called home for several years,” Wolf said.
However, Wolf said the church could not have put on the event alone. Arvest Bank, Talking Rocks Cavern, Earth Art Landscaping, Sonic, Indian Point Marina, Harter House, Stone County Fire Department, Table Rock Community Bank, Ayres Signs, and the Stone County Developmental Disabilities Board, also helped make the event a success.
“We had a blast hosting the Easter Eggstravaganza and plan to continue this annual event. We loved partnering with many local businesses and organizations. They were so generous and really helped make this event a success. A huge thank you to everyone who came out! We can’t wait to see you next year!” Wolf said.
Wolf said there was a great turnout for the Easter Eggstravaganza.
“We handed out around 140 bags to just kids alone. The ages of kids were 1 to 11,” Wolf said.
Egg hunts will also take place throughout Stone and Taney Counties this coming weekend.
