Letter to the Editor

August 12, 2021
Kudos to Managing Editor Shana Harter, Stone County and Christian County Sheriff Departments, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol regarding the Hurley drug arrests. According to the article, the old-timer alleged Subjects have had numerous contacts with “law enforcement” and have been playing the system their whole lives. This story ended well for the officers involved but the public doesn’t realize they put their lives on the line to make the arrests.
When are the people going to get serious about crime? Law enforcement make the arrests and then it’s lets make a deal to avoid clogging up the system be it at the City, County, State or Federal levels. Fortunately I reckon, the law abiding people don’t understand what is happening and the beat goes on.
