Kimberling City Meet The Authors Event Scheduled
January 9, 2020
Meet 42 regional authors and hear from ten speakers at the Eighth Annual Meet the Authors Festival at the Kimberling Area Library. The event will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
“We are offering this enlightening free event to provide individuals an opportunity to meet talented authors, discuss their books and purchase an autographed copy of their books,” said Festival co-chairperson Mary Plate. “We also have an interesting line-up of speakers, a book will be given away after each speaker’s presentation.”
The two featured speakers this year are Martha Knox and Paul William Bass. Martha Knox became interested in the increase in female mystery writers between World War I and World War II. The best known female author of this era, Agatha Christie, is still popular today almost 100 years later. Martha Knox has also received the Library of Congress recommendation from APH for Large Print Book Design for Dyslexic and Special Needs Readers. Paul William Bass will present his newest book, Missouri Innovators, hoping to inspire Missourians to dream and accomplish even greater feats. Paul William Bass has won the Missouri Writers’ Guild “First Place Major Work Award” for his book entitled The History of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Speakers topics and times are as follows:
