Kansas Man Nearly Drowns In TRL Over Weekend

A Kansas man was found floating in Table Rock Lake on Saturday, August 17. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol online drowning incident report, Gary D. Vernon, 51, of Shawnee, Kan., was found in the water about two miles southeast of Kimberling City.
According to the report, investigated by Trooper Andy Ward, Vernon was found face down in the water wearing a flotation device.
He reportedly had serious injuries, although the exact nature of those injuries and their cause was not indicated in the report.
Vernon was taken by air to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
He was found at approximately 11:30 a.m.
