Jenkins Fire Chili Supper This Weekend

March 5, 2020
Chili, soup, dessert and drink will be available for a donation to the Jenkins Fire Department on Saturday, March 7, 5-7 p.m. Station #1 is located on Highway 248 just west of Highway 39.

Entertainment for the evening will be music by the well-known group, The Flyin’ Buzzards.

This the 40th anniversary of the organization of the Jenkins Rural Fire Department. The department has grown from one brush truck housed in a board member’s barn to three stations, multiple vehicles, safety equipment for firefighters and a volunteer crew of approximately 50—firefighters, auxiliary and others who do multiple tasks required to keep the department going.

Leaders of the department are: Doug Fare, president of board; Sandy Rainwater, secretary/treasurer; and Trey Phillips, fire chief.
