A Reeds Spring woman was sentenced to five years in prison last week for her role in the death of her son in 2016. Bambi Jackson, 36, was found guilty of two felonies, involuntary manslaughter in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, at a bench trial on June 26.

On Friday, September 13, Jackson appeared before Judge Blankenship for sentencing. She was sentenced to four years imprisonment with the Department of Corrections for the involuntary manslaughter charge and five years incarceration for first degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to online court records.

Jackson was allowed to remain at liberty over the weekend and was ordered to report to the Stone County Jail on Monday, September 16, at 5 p.m. According to the Stone County Jail roster, Jackson was booked at 5 p.m. on September 16.

Jackson was charged, along with her husband, Joshua, in 2016 following the death of their 13 month old child, who was found to weigh only 10 pounds at the time of death.

Joshua Jackson entered an Alford plea in October of 2018. He was sentenced to 120 days of shock incarceration for second degree manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. He was released in February of this year and has five years of supervised probation for his role in the death of the child.
