Incumbents Keep Seats In Stone County

The incumbents in two contested county office races retained their seats after the Missouri Primary election on Tuesday, August 4.
Doug Rader beat opponent John Elmore to retain his post as Stone County Sheriff. Hank Smythe beat Mike Cooper, securing 60% of the vote in that contest.
Mike Moon carried Stone County, securing 52% of the vote. Moon also won in Lawrence County and secured enough votes to win the State Senate seat for District 29.
Stone County voters rejected Medicare Expansion, Amendment 2 on the ballot. 5,710 voted against the measure, with 2,663 voting in favor.
