Hurley Christmas Lighting Draws Cheery Crowd

The 32nd annual Hurley Christmas Lighting was held on Sunday, December 1, in the Hurley Fire Protection District station.
About 150 people came out for a night of music and Christmas cheer.
Citizen of the year was awarded to Ronnie Bishop. “Ronnie is always someone who will help out,” said Mayor Seaton when announcing his win. “Whenever the park floods, we know he will be down there helping clean up.” Citizen of the Year is selected by the Hurley Community Development Corporation board each year. Bishop was not able to attend this year’s Christmas lighting, as he was visiting his mother.
Winners of the best decorated house were 1st Place - Donnie and Faye Wilks; 2nd Place- David and Wanda Dunn; and 3rd Place- Ima Mae Langley.
Brooke Hultz won the drawing for the fire pit, which also came with bundles of wood and ingredients for smores.
