Hicks and Johnson Named Valedictorian, Salutatorian of Crane Class of '19

Madison Hicks, above, is the Crane High School 2019 valedictorian.
Andrew Johnson is the salutatorian for the 2019 graduating class at Crane High School.
Madison Hicks is the daughter of John and Kristal Hicks. Madison has participated in many programs while at Crane High School. She has been a member of FBLA, NHS, and STUCO holding many leadership positions and is a standout athlete on the volleyball, basketball, and track teams. Her athletic accomplishments include going to state in both basketball and track. 

​Hicks has 9 state track medals to her name and is a state champion in the 400m dash. She has been awarded the Southwest Baptist Cross Country Women’s Performance scholarship, Ingram Distinguished Scholar Award, SBU residency grant, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks scholarship and is an A+ completer. Madison plans to attend Southwest Baptist University in the fall and major in Biology then pursue a career in the medical field.

Andrew Johnson is the son of Tyler and Beth Johnson. He has been a member of National Honor Society, track and cross country, Academic Team, FBLA, and STUCO. Some of the highlights of Drew’s high school career include him competing with cross country at state, having the highest point total for the academic team and achieving one of the highest ASVAB scores in school history. 

During his time at CHS, Drew has not only been very involved but he has maintained exceptional grades all while taking the most rigorous coursework available including several dual credit and advanced placement classes. Drew has been awarded many scholarships including the Crane Chronicle Scholarship, Crane Teachers Association Scholarship, Educator of the Year Scholarship, the Drury Go Beyond, Legacy and the Trustee Scholarship. He is also an A+ completer.
