Excavator Stolen Out of Arkansas Found in Stone County

     A Shell Knob man is in the Stone County Jail after being charged with stealing an excavator. 
     According to affidavits of probable cause, Jack Willman Jr., age 51, was found with a CAT excavator reported stolen out of Fayetteville, Ark. Detective Frisbie with the Stone County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to assist Fayetteville police in locating the excavator. GPS reportedly led the authorities to Willman’s property on the Stone County side of Shell Knob. A VIN check confirmed the CAT brand excavator as stolen. Fayetteville police state that the excavator is valued at over $100,000.
     Willman allegedly told Detective Frisbie that someone dropped the excavator off for him to work on, but would not tell who it was. Willman allegedly told several stories, but they did not match. 
     ​Willman was booked into the Stone County Jail on Friday, January 5. He is held on $25,000 cash-only bond for the Class D felony of Stealing $25,000 or more.
