Gibson Technical Center students will benefit from new equipment, courtesy of White River Valley Electric Cooperative. GTC’s Marine Technology and Construction Technology programs each received $500 Power Up grants as part of WRVEC’s Operation Round Up.
Teachers from WRVEC’s five-county service area applied for grants, which are intended to support innovative classroom-based projects.
Construction Tech teacher Sonny Young plans to purchase electrician toolkits and electric meters. Students will use the tools to practice wiring skills.
Marine Technology teacher Chris Jenkins will use his grant to help pay for a boat water-pump. This will allow students to work on up-to-date equipment.
Gibson Technical Center and the Reeds Spring School District would like to thank WRVEC for its continuous support of education.
