On Thursday, December 19, Missouri approved ten medical marijuana testing facilities, including ContiCorp, LLC, which will open a testing lab in Galena sometime next year.
More details are not available to print at this time. When reached for comment Friday morning, December 20, Chris Conti said, “We’ve gotten a lot of calls from reporters today and we just aren’t prepared to comment right now.” The Chronicle will be following up with Conti in the coming days.
Testing facilities will ensure that marijuana sold through dispensaries is safe and will also test and verify the amount of THC in marijuana products sold throughout the state.
Testing facilities were the first licenses related to the medical marijuana amendment passed by Missouri voters last year. Up next, the state will reveal the licensees for transportation facilities by December 23. (We are printing this week’s paper on Monday, December 23, before the announcement is finalized). On December 26, cultivation facilities will be licensed, with manufacturing facilities following on January 10, 2020, dispensaries on January 24; and seed to sale tracking on January 31.
Several applications were submitted Stone County for the dispensary, cultivation and manufacturing facilities categories.
Dispensaries are expected to open sometime in the later half of 2020.
