Galena Lady Bears Basketball
December 6, 2018
On Monday, December 3, the Galena Lady Bears traveled to Branson to play School of the Ozarks.
The game had a slow start with both teams, struggling to score. Going into halftime the score was 23-15 in favor of S of O.
In the intermission, Coach Argo told them that even when their shots are not falling, you have to be the aggressor on offense, whether that’s creating for teammates or getting to the foul line. He also told them that no matter what you defense will travel, so we have to communicate & make sure we are hitting our rotations.
Start of the third period we were turning them over just not capitalizing on the offensive end. Going into the fourth period the score was 27-23 in favor of S of O.
Galena’s defense started firing on all cylinders, and our offense picked up out scoring them 17-4 in the fourth period. Our defense lead to some easy transition baskets. Britney Doucey led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Hope Deines and Abby Rice with 9 and 8 points, respectively.
