Galena Driver Hurt In Christian County Crash

​Two people were hurt this weekend after a driver from Galena reportedly ran a red light in Nixa.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Elizabeth Briggs, 45, of Galena, was driving a 2018 Nissan Altima east on US Highway 160 near Nixa when the incident occurred on Friday, April 24.

According to the crash report, Briggs' Altima was heading east on a residential street toward the intersection with Highway 60 when, at around 2:20 p.m., the vehicle ran a red light and hit a 2005 Buick La Sabre that was driven by Joshua Freeman, 25, of Cabool.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash. They were removed from the scene by St. John's towing.

Joshua Freeman suffered minor injuries in the crash. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident. He was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.

Elizabeth Briggs suffered moderate injuries in the crash. She was also wearing a seat belt and was taken to Cox South by ambulance.

This incident was investigated by Cpl. Stallcup of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
