Galena Bears Spring Baseball PreviewThere are high hopes for a successful season for the 2021 Galena High School Baseball team. The Bears will be led by seniors Logan Thompson, Grant Harness, Jacob McKnight, and Hunter Chase. Chase and Harness were both named 2nd team All-SWCL from the previous season, while Chase hit .283 and Harness hit .367 with the leading batting average.
There is a strong duo in juniors with 1st team All-SWCL honors outfielder Logan Busbey and pitcher Cameron Robertson. Busbey hit .350 and went 2-2 on the mound with an era of 2.68. Robertson hit .365 and went 4-1 on the mound with an era right under 2.0.
The rest of the lineup will consist of Dillion Batson (JR), Robert Carter (SO), Nathan Dinger (SO), Cooper Sartin (SO), Chase Robertson (FR), Cannon Keithly (FR), and Ben Bailey (FR). The Bears open up their season with their first game being March 19th at home against Wheaton.
