Free Tax Preparation Available For In Stone County

University of Missouri Extension’s Stone County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites, will be open according to the following schedule for 2019:
Wednesdays, Stone County Library, 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 322 West MO-248, Galena
Thursdays, Stone Co. Neighborhood Cen- ter (OACAC), 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Stoneridge Center, 15060 Bus. Hwy. 13, Suite 11, Branson West, MO 65737
Beginning Jan 16, call 417-357-6812 to make an appointment for free tax preparation.
Who can get Free Tax Preparation and the Earned Income Credit?
• Taxpayers with an AGI of $57,000 or less can get Free Tax Preparation
• Families meeting additional requirements are eligible for a credit of up to $6,431
Volunteers are not trained to do business taxes, itemized taxes or capital gains and losses. If you have any of these you should see a paid preparer.
Bring with you:
• Original Social Security cards for you, your spouse, and each of your dependent children
• Picture ID for all who need to sign forms and date of birth for you, your spouse and any dependents.
• Wage and earning statements from all employers (Forms W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-Misc) and any interest or dividend information for 2018.
• Forms 1095-A, B or C, Health Coverage Statements
• If you have a Marketplace granted health coverage exemption, bring your exemption certificate number
• A personal check (for checking account and routing number), if you want your refund directly deposited
• Your 2017 tax return (optional)

In 2018, did you...
• Receive unemployment compensation? Bring your Form 1099G • Pay for child care? Bring the total you paid for child care expenses and the name, address, and Tax ID/Social Security Number of the child care provider
• Pay student loan interest? Bring the total of the student loan interest you paid
• Pay for tuition? Bring Form 1098 for you, your spouse, and/or dependent children
• Receive retirement income? Bring your 1099R
Volunteers will also do the Missouri Property Tax Credit Claim for senior citizens over 65 years of age, those on full disability, and 100% disabled veterans. Along with the required identification listed above you will need to bring:
• Either your 2018 paid real estate property tax receipt or rent verification forms completed by your landlord.
• Copies of your SSA-1099, RRB-1099, or SSI statement from social security Disabled veteran documentation.
