First Tournament For The Galena Girls’ Golf Team

   This week the Galena girls golf team competed in the Seymour Invitational held at Whispering Oaks Golf Course in Marshfield, MO. The Seymour Invitational was the first tournament for the girls.

   The Lady Bear with the lowest individual score was Chalice Sherer with a score of 113. Chalice was followed by Savanna Baker with a score of 119. Sophomores Marissa Harris and Taylor Jones both scored an individual score of 126, while Bree Rice ended with a score of 132. As a team, the ladies scored 484.

   Springfield Catholic ended up winning the tournament, while Glendale finished 2nd. Galena placed 8th out of 19 participating teams. The girls are looking forward to improving their scores at their next tournament, which is September 10th at Hidden Valley Golf Links in Clever. We look forward to seeing what the girls are capable of achieving this season.
