Finding A Job In Stone County No Difficult Task

The COVID-19 virus has cost the people of Stone County plenty. When the tidal wave of the pandemic came in, just like everywhere else, some merchants were not termed “essential” places of business. Therefore, some of those businesses were forced to permanently close their doors; this resulted in many individuals losing their jobs. This can cause great stress on the household finances. Fortunately, there is good news for those who are searching for a new place of employment, or just needing a little extra cash to help with the rising cost of living.
The job market in Stone County is booming! There is something for everyone. Almost everywhere a person looks they will find a “help wanted” sign on the billboard and doorways or in the windows.
O’Reilly Auto Parts and Walmart stores in Branson West are now accepting applications. Both of these companies offer insurance plans, 401K, paid vacations, stock shares and advancement opportunities. Walmart is looking for personal shoppers and night stockers.
O’Reilly Auto Parts is conducting a job fair, Thursday, August 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Hollister. This location was chosen due to its capacity to keep safe social distancing for the employees and the participants. For those who are unable to attend the job fair, applications may be made online at oreillyauto.com. For people interested in Walmart, they only accept online applications at Walmart.com.
Smart Styles is another conglomerate located inside Walmart in Branson West. A “help wanted’ sign is displayed in their window. A beautician or hairdresser/stylist looking for advancement would be a perfect fit for this position.
If big corporations are not to one’s liking, the UPS Store in Branson West is taking applications. Walk-in applicants will get a nice reception. When applying with this company, people often think they are getting their foot in the door to the United Parcel Service. This is a big misconception. The UPS Stores are franchised out of San Diego, California, after Mail Boxes Etc. was subsidized by UPS in 2001 and in 2003 they changed the name of the company.
The Quilted Cow, a couple of doors down is also taking applications. They are wanting someone with experience in Customer Service. Having some knowledge of quilting, sewing, embroidery and other crafting projects is helpful.
The Old Man’s Place on Old Highway 160 just north of Reeds Spring Junction is looking for an experienced mechanic. A friendly atmosphere and high quality service with affordable pricing keeps their shop extremely busy.
Reeds Spring Pizza Company is looking for kitchen help only. Since the shut down, they have not yet allowed any “dine-in” business. They prepare food and offer curb side service or delivery by Door Dash.
In the vein of food service–McDonalds, Hardees, Sonic, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Subway inside Walmart, are all hiring. McDonalds is a “second-chance” company. Some who apply with this company are given a second chance to change their lifestyle even if they have a felony on their record. They also have opportunities for quick advancement up the corporate ladder when employees show great promise.
Chopsticks in Branson West is looking for someone to greet, wait on diners and a cashier.
Mule Express in Branson West and Rapid Roberts in Kimberling City are taking applications from responsible persons to run the cash register, stock shelves, food preparation and service.
Ulrich Marine in Branson West is a growing, high-energy company. They are wide open and looking to fill positions in every department. Those departments are Service, Sales and Customer Care.
Tanco Lumber in Branson West is also a growing company. Their location on Hwy 13 is brand new. They are quickly expanding their inventory. Right now, they are taking applications for people looking to work outside in the lumber yard and CDL drivers.
Table Rock Family Vision Care is seeking a receptionist and vision technician. If applicants do not have those skills, the company offers on-the-job training.
Finally, the Altenhof Inn Restaurant & Pizzeria on Indian Point is looking for a part-time server Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each week. The perk to working at this eatery is the friendly atmosphere and “million dollar” view of Table Rock Lake.
