Crane High School science teacher Karen Faucett was selected as the 2017-2018 Crane Teacher of the Year and recognized at a banquet on Monday, August 27.
Dr. Chris Johnson, Crane Superintendent, said “the committee selected Karen because she is innovative, rigorous in the classroom and also cares deeply about her students. She cares about the success of all of her students, whatever it takes for them to succeed, she does it and gives her all.”
Faucett teaches biology, chemistry and physics.
The banquet was held at the Southwest Regional Professional Development Center in Rolla. It recognized all of the teachers of the year from the school districts in the southwest region. “It was an honor to hear last year’s state teacher of the year address all of the educators,” Johnson said. “It was great to honor and recognize the efforts of so many good educators.”
