October 14, 2021
Shana Harter
A Gravette, Arkansas man is dead after the boat he was riding in ran aground at Table Rock Lake on Saturday.
The crash happened at approximately 6:22 a.m., west of Point Nine, on Oct. 9, as the driver, Ronald Rose, 75, also of Gravette, failed to keep a proper lookout and grounded the boat, hitting a tree and gravel embankment.
Lifeline transported Seventy-five-year-old Elmer Dirck to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, where he died of his injuries.
Trooper R.W. Pace investigated the crash. This is Troop D’s eighth fatality boat crash of 2021.
