Donations for Old Town Cemetery  upkeep needed

 May 27, 2021
The Old Town Cemetery is located next to the Crane Christian Church in what was originally the “Main Street” of Crane. It was the final resting pace of choice for a number of the Crane area families for many years. In fact, if your family had ties to the Crane area previous to 1950 or particularly around the early 1900’s, you very likely have family ancestors resting there.
The Old Town Cemetery Association was formed in the 1970’s with the sole purpose of providing for the upkeep of the cemetery. A total of $10,000 was raised and placed in trust with the interest to be used for the expense of mowing and upkeep. The Association is registered with the State of Missouri and was structured so the $10,000 would not be used for expenses. The Association relied totally on the interest income and donations for several years. Some of the Certificates of Deposit have had to be cashed in the past few years in order to cover mowing expenses.
We are making this appeal because we need funds. As you can see, we are relying on donations to meet expenses. With the interest rate down, low donations, and the price of fuel, we need your help.
If you have donated, we thank you. If you are a past donor we hope you will consider a donation once again. Donations may be sent to the board secretary/treasurer:
Latishia Clark
1054 Sunday Drive
Crane, MO. 65633
If you have any questions, feel free to contact board members:
