Diversified Forage Tour In Taney County

September 19, 2019
University of Missouri Extension is teaming up with College of the Ozarks and Branson Bank to host a “Diversified Forage Tour” starting at 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26 at the College of the Ozarks Hog Farm, 257 Gobblers Knob, Hollister, Mo.

Presentation topics will address the results of a native warm season grass planting, an annual polyculture planting (sudangrass, sunn hemp, field peas, sunflowers, etc) and have a discussion on johnsongrass as a forage (or ways to get rid of it if not desired).

Dr. Harley Naumann, a professor from the University of Missouri, will be discussing his sunn hemp research in Missouri.

Tim Schnakenberg, field specialist in agronomy with University of Missouri Extension, will also present a program.

A barbeque meal will be provided. Call the Taney County Extension office at 417-546-4431 by Monday, Sept. 23 to pre-register.
