Galena Couple Killed in Crash

Crane Teen Seriously Injured in Christian County Crash

A Galena couple died in a crash on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 near Reeds Spring.
Kirby Hedrick, 82, the driver, and his wife, Shirley Hedrick, 79, both of Galena were killed when Hedrick pulled his 2013 Ford Escape into the path of David Warthen’s 2013 Ford F250 truck. Warthen struck Hedrick’s car in the driver’s side. The crash occured at 3:33 p.m. on US 160, one mile north of Reeds Spring. David Warthen, 62, of Springfield suffered moderate injures.
Kirby and Shirley Hedrick were pronounced dead at the scene by Stone County Coroner John Cunnyngham at 4:41 p.m. Both drivers and the occupant were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
The surviving driver, Warthen, was tested for alcohol per Missouri state statute. The crash was investigated by Troopers Ohara and Rickman and Wright.

A Crane, teen was seriously injured in a crash just east of Billings on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021.
The male juvenile, 17, was working under the front of a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 when it was struck by a 1987 Cheverolet motorhome driven by 81 year old, William Embrey Jr., of Fargo, North Dakota. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol crash report, the truck was partially in the westbound lane when the crash occured at 10:07 p.m. on US 60, one half mile east of Billings.
Both vehicles and the teen came to rest off the right edge of the roadway. The Crane teen was transported to Cox South Hospital.
Embrey was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The motorhome suffered total damages. The Dodge pick up sustained moderate damage.
