A 21 year old woman from Crane is in the Stone County Jail after allegedly brandishing a steak knife at a Crane police officer at the end of last month.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, used in filing charges, Whitney D. Farris, 21, of Crane, brandished, in a threatening manner, a steak knife at a Crane Police Officer and an unnamed victim. This event allegedly occurred on Monday, April 30, 2018.
According to the probable cause statement, Farris ignored the officer’s directions and continued toward him and the victim. Once Farris was disarmed and placed under arrest, victim and witness statements say she attempted to hit the victim with her fists before law enforcement was called.
