Crane To Hold Traditional Graduation In July
May 13, 2020
After a small uproar from parents and students, Crane High School will hold a traditional, in-person graduation ceremony on July 26. This move came after parents criticized the school for their in-car graduation plans announced a couple of weeks ago.
"Based on the information collected [from surveys], graduation is postponed," the school said to parents in a letter sent out Tuesday, May 5.
Graduation is set for July 26 at 3 p.m. in the high school gym. Additional information, like dates and times for graduation rehearsal and the art showcase will be released in June.
Should public health requirements around COVID-19 prevent the school from holding a traditional graduation in July, the school says they will use the feedback received from parents and students to "adjust the traditional graduation ceremony into something meaningful that fits the public health guidelines at that time," the school said.
