Crane Pirates Come Home with the Gold

Crane’s Junior Varsity athletes brought two first place trophies home from the SWCL Tournament. They guys won one and so did the ladies.
The Lady Pirates entered the tournament with a record of 10-1, placing them as the 2nd seed in the tournament. The 1st round, the Lady Pirates faced the Purdy Lady Eagles, winning 52-17. In the 2nd round the Lady Pirates faced the Galena Lady Bears winning 32-13. In the championship game the Lady Pirates faced the Sparta Lady Trojans, the only team that they had lost to during the season. The Lady Pirates won the championship game with a score of 40-33 and finished the season 13-1.
The Guy Pirates entered the tournament with a record of 5-6 placing them as the 3rd seed in the tournament. The 1st round, the Pirates faced the Spokane Owls, winning 36-16. In the 2nd round the Pirates faced the Galena Bears. It was a hard fought battle but the Pirates pull out the overtime victory, winning 44-40. In the championship game, the Pirates faced the Sparta Trojans. After another close game, the Pirates won the championship with a score of 28-24 and finished the season 8-6.
