Crane Man Airlifted After Multi-Vehicle Wreck

June 21, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones
A serious crash occurred just north of Crane in the early hours of Saturday, May 16, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, leading to Rodney D. Gipson, of Crane, being flown to the hospital with serious injuries.
Just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, a 2005 Mini Cooper, driven by Kimberly D. Thomas, 35, of Nixa, hit two cars cars that were in the roadway just north of Crane on Highway 413. The report states that a 2003 Buick Century was crashed and partially in the roadway. Thomas’s Cooper hit the Century, which was then pushed into Rodney D. Gipson, 53, of Crane, who was standing outside the vehicle. He sustained serious injuries and was flown to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. It is unclear at this time if he was the driver of the Century.
The Mini Cooper continued south on the highway and hit a 2012 Ford Edge, which was parked partially in the roadway. An occupant of the Edge, 59 year old Wanda I. Noblitt, of Bois D’Arc, was seriously injured in this second collision. She was wearing a seat belt. Noblitt was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
The driver of the Mini Cooper, Thomas, was also wearing a seat belt. She had moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital.
The 2005 Mini Cooper had extensive damage in the crashes. The 2012 Ford Edge took moderate damage. The 2003 Buick Century was totaled. All three vehicles were towed by Hillbilly Towing of Marionville.
This incident was investigated by Trooper K. R. Copeland of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
