Crane High School celebrated homecoming differently this year. Unfortunately, the extensive break due to weather canceled all opportunities for a traditional homecoming night. Fortunately, Mrs. Karen Faucett and the high school student council worked hard to organize an assembly for the Family Game Night Homecoming. Parents and family members of candidates were invited to attend.
On Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 2:35 p.m., the assembly began with the high school choir singing the national anthem, followed by the cheerleaders pepping up the crowd with two cheers and the band performing two songs.
The coronation began with boys and girls basketball teams and cheerleaders escorting each other into the gym.
Senior Sidnie Blevins, escorted by senior Hayden Shepard, led in the rest of the homecoming court royalty. Junior candidate, Perry Mease, was escorted by junior Sam Woodward, sophomore candidate, Rachel Quintana, was escorted by sophomores Ginny Thompson and Zoe Reel. Freshman candidate, Brenna Lasiter, was escorted by freshman Caleb Vaught, and basketball candidate, Lillie McMenamy(sophomore), was escorted by senior Isaiah Smith. The flower girl was Livi Wise, and the crown bearer was Jagger Vaught. For the highlight of the afternoon, the 2020 homecoming queen, Ms. Maddy Swearingen, crowned Ms. Sidnie Blevins as the 2021 homecoming queen.
