Crane Elementary Students To Receive Most School Supplies
July 8, 2020

Isaac Estes-Jones
For the third year in a row, Crane First Baptist Church will donate nearly all of the needed school supplies for every student in kindergarten through sixth grade at Crane Elementary School.
The only thing students’ families will be responsible for buying are backpacks, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and earphones or earbuds.
The school states there are a few backpacks available thanks to previous donations from the community. If your student needs one, please contact the Elementary Office.
All supplies will be delivered to each student’s classroom prior to the first day of school. Parents do not need to do anything to claim them.
At this time, Crane Schools is planning to start in-person schooling on August 25 as previously planned and to follow the calendar as approved by the school board earlier this summer. The school has put in place extra cleaning protocols, including buses. They are working with county and state public health officials as the novel coronavirus continues to spread in the region. Additionally, the school has stated that masks will not be required. Students will be able to wear them if desired, but masks will not be provided by the district. The district adds “There will be a no tolerance of teasing of wearing or not wearing of masks.”
