Clever Man Injured In Maries County Wreck

A Clever man was hurt in Maries County on December 14 after the sem-truck he was driving ran off of the road.


According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Gary W. Thater, 63, of Clever, was driving a 2015 Freightliner south on Highway 133 when the crash occurred at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, December 14. 


According to the report, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway about two miles south of Meta. The truck overturned after the leaving the road. 


Gary Thater, who was wearing a safety device, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was taken to Capitol Region Hospital in Jefferson City by Osage EMS. 


The 2015 Freightliner had extensive damages. It was towed by Tow Pro Holts Summit. 


This incident was investigated by Trooper S. M. Blackston, of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I, with assistance from Sergeant R. A. Copeland an Sergeant D. M. Hedrick.
