Paul Edward Christianson was sentenced to incarceration last week after he pleaded guilty to one felony and one misdemeanor for sexually assaulting patients at the Crane nursing home in the summer of 2018. His case was set for a bench trial later this month before Christianson accepted a plea deal.
According to online court records, Christianson pleaded guilty to the class C felony of sexual abuse in the first degree and the class A misdemeanor of sexual conduct with a nursing facility resident in Stone County courts on Monday, December 2.
Christianson was arrested August 24, 2018, in connection with the sexual assault of at least one nursing home resident with diminished mental capacity.
Christianson was initially charged with one count of rape in the first degree.
For the misdemeanor charge, Christianson was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with credit for 90 days already served.
For the felony, Christianson received a seven year sentence to incarceration with the Department of Corrections. He will also undergo the 120 day Sex Offender Assessment Unit (SOAU) program.
Upon completion of the 120 day program, Missouri statutes stipulate that Christianson may be released on probation if he is found to be successful in the program.
