Child Hit By Propeller When Trying To Board Boat

July 22, 2020
Isaac Estes-Jones

A 10 year old child from Nebraska was taken to the hospital over the weekend after he was hit by a boat propeller.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol boating incident report, the 10 year old child from Omaha, Neb., was attempting to board a 1999 Bryant Outboard near Point 6 on Table Rock Lake on Sunday, July 19.

The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. about three miles south of Branson West, according to the report by Trooper A. B. Ward.

The child, who was wearing a safety device at the time of the incident, was taken to Cox Hospital in Branson for treatment of moderate injuries.

The 1999 Bryant Outboard boat was not damaged. It was driven from the scene. It was piloted at the time of the incident by Rodolfo Reyes, 39, of Omaha, Neb.

Earlier this year, the Missouri State Highway Patrol changed their reporting standards and no longer list the names of juvenile victims in online crash reports. The Crane Chronicle/Stone County Republican did not publish those details, even when they were available.
