Cars Crash After One Stops For School Bus

A Shell Knob woman was hurt last week after her car was hit from behind when she stopped for a loading school bus. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Sharon O. Mitchell, 61, of Shell Knob, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic east on Missouri 39 about eight miles west of Blue Eye when the crash occurred on Thursday, September 12. 


According to the report, the Sonic was stopped behind a school bus at approximately 7:40 a.m. when the car was rear-ended by a 2015 Dodge Charger driven by 55 year old Helen N. Bobsin, of Shell Knob. 


Sharon Mitchell suffered minor injuries in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt. She was taken by ambulance to Cox Medical Center in Branson for treatment. 


Helen Bobsin, who was driving the Charger, did not report any injuries in the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt. 


The 2013 Chevrolet Sonic had extensive damage from the crash. The 2015 Dodge Charger was totaled out. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Chris’s Towing, of Lampe. 


This incident was investigated by trooper J. Schwartz, of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D. ​
