Life Insurance, retirement and financial planning help people plan for a secure future. Whether you’re ready to retire, just beginning a family, or somewhere in between, look no further than Modern Woodmen.
Modern Woodmen is a not-for-profit fraternal company. What is a fraternal company you ask? It’s not owned by stockholders; it is owned by its members-the insured themselves.
Woodmen Local agent Wendy Youngblood explained that one of the things that drew her to this company was how Modern gives back. She researched the company for a couple of years before deciding to joining the Modern Woodmen team. Youngblood, born and raised in Blue Eye and a Cape Fair area resident, said she couldn’t be happier. “They believe in giving back, just like I do,” Youngblood said.
This 138-year-old company gives back to their members and community in many ways- from scholarships to books on your children’s birthdays to newborn and orphan benefits to allowing their agents money each year to donate to local and community projects.
Youngblood says that Modern  Woodmen has allowed her to give the Stone County Fire Dept Auxiliary $1,000 each year, buy treats for all the teachers at the Reeds Spring School during teacher appreciation week, support the Shepherd of the Hills Humane Society, Kimberling City Library, and Life Song Church for shoes for kid, just to name a few.
Modern offers variety of term and whole life insurance policies. They even have a return of premium term.   Youngblood can help families budget, prepare for retirement, start retirement or even help create income for a lifetime when they retire.   She can set up different types of retirement accounts for individuals and businesses.
Youngblood added that she can also just help people learn about investing without having a retirement account.
“Youngblood described how life insurance can benefit a young growing family. “I have a family of 6.   They all have insurance with me.   The kids get the free books [each year on their birthdays] and are eligible for scholarships.  If the parents orphaned their 4 children, then someone would have to raise them.  We step in and pay someone up to $300 a month per child to help raise the children and when the children turn 19 years old, they automatically receive a $16000 scholarship for college.”
“I believe in customer service and getting to know my clients. Educating them on the different types of life insurance we offer. I want them to understand what they are buying and make sure it’s right for them and that can afford it.”
