Blue Eye Man Dies in Taney County Crash

January 18, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones

A 57 year old Blue Eye man lost his life last week after his vehicle ran off the road and hit some trees outside of Ridgedale.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Michael D. Clarke was driving a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage south on Ridgedale Road when the crash occurred at around 10:30 at night on Wednesday, January 10. Clarke’s vehicle ran off the right side of the road. After returning to the road, the report states that the Mirage started to skid and ran off the left side of the road. It traveled down the embankment and hit two trees head on.
Clarke, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Taney County Coroner Kevin Tweedy at 11:32 p.m. His body was taken to Cremation of the Ozarks in Hollister.
Clarke is Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D’s second fatality of 2018.
The 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage was towed by All Time Towing of Hollister.
