Bears take fifth at MCE History Bowl
Seven Galena High School students traveled to Marion C. Early on Friday, January 14, to compete in the annual History Bowl field 29 teams from 21 area schools schools.
Categories of competition covered 13 broad categories including Ancient Mesopotamia, the American Revolution, World Capitals, and MLB History.
The Bears finished in 5th place overall with 98 points out of 130 possible, ending the day 10 points behind the champion Fair Grove, and only 5 points out of 2nd place.
Students attending included Seniors: Tyler Carr, Jacob Martin & Zane Tolbert; Junior: Brenda Forker; Sophomores: Bella Baird & Mollie Potter; and Freshman: Maribelle Martin.
