May 31, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones

A 22 year old from Arkansas was arrested after a traffic stop last week reportedly uncovered drugs and needles in her vehicle.
According to affidavits of probable cause, 22 year old Ashton Mathis, of Harrison, Ark., was contacted by a Stone County Sheriff’s Deputy along Highway 13 in the southern part of Stone County during a traffic stop on Saturday, May 19.
During the course of the deputy’s investigation, Mathis was reportedly found with a pill bottle containing Tramadol, for which she did not have a prescription. Further, a mirror had a crystal substance that allegedly field tested positive for methamphetamine. Two hypodermic needles were reportedly found in the center console of the vehicle.
Mathis is being held in the Stone County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond as of presstime on Tuesday. She is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
